“Phenocal review”
Another weight loss supplement on the market, Phenocal, works by “suppressing your appetite, revving up your metabolism, and maximizing your workout performance – increasing your weight loss potential”, according to the official website. Even though their claims sound incredible, they are lacking any substantial proof to back them up.
It has been proven
through research that the individual ingredients which make up Phenocal do actually work effectively in weight loss. There is also mention of this fact on their website. But, they also fail to mention that there has been no research into how the combination of ingredients in Phenocal will work together, and whether they are safe and effective.
Phenocal itself has not been tested by the manufacturer, Pharmaxa Labs, which is concerning. And, they are not forthcoming about the lack of research either.
Phenocal’s Ingredients
As claimed on the Phenocal official website, “Phenocal is formulated with the highest grade of patented, clinically proven ingredients that will suppress your appetite, increase your energy levels, and get you on the road to a trimmer, toner, and healthier you.”
The website goes further to state that “Phenocal contains key ingredients Glucomannan and Hoodia that have been clinically proven to reduce hunger and promote a feeling of fullness.” These claims are very misleading.
It is true though that Phenocal contains several ingredients which are known to help with weight loss, such as 5 HTP, Green Tea leaf extract, 7-Keto and Glucomannan. And, while it is true that some of these ingredients can be effective for weight loss, the manufacturers fail to mention that the amounts of the ingredients that have been used in any clinical trials is much higher than the amounts actually found in Phenocal.
For example, it has been proven that Glucomannan will contribute to weight loss when a dose of 2-4 grams each day are taken. For every 3 caplet dosage of Phenocal, there is only 400 milligrams of Glucomannan. What this means is, that even by taking two full doses of Phenocal in a day, you will still only be getting 800 milligrams of this ingredient, which is way below half of the dosage that is proven to be effective for weight loss.
In addition, the product also claims that the inclusion of Hoodia Gordonii as an ingredient offers appetite suppression qualities. But, products that contain true Hoodia must come with a certificate of authenticity, which Phenocal does not have.
Phenocal – an ineffective amount of ingredients
When taking into consideration the ingredients which make up Phenocal, such as Green Tea, it is easy to understand how this product might give you an increased amount of energy. But, an energy boost alone is not going to help you lose weight. Many of the ingredients have been proven to be successful for weight loss, according to many studies that have been done.
However, the problem isn’t with the list of ingredients in Phenocal – it is the amount of the ingredients that are being used in the product. These amounts are simply too small to be able to be effective in helping anyone to lose weight. The rest of the pill is made up of filler vitamins and minerals, which you could just as easily get by taking a multivitamin.
Do we recommend Phenocal?
While Phenocal does have clinically proven ingredients to help you lose weight by reducing hunger and promoting feelings of fullness, they just do not have enough of these ingredients included in their pills to be effective.
Furthermore, research needs to be done on Phenocal itself, not just rely on the research into the individual ingredients. Unless you are prepared to be disappointed in your weight loss efforts, we would advise you to steer clear of this product, and find another supplement that will work as it claims.
